Frequently asked questions.

What is Bryta?

Bryta is a clinician-led brain and body training program for adults 60+. It combines cognitive training with physical exercise simultaneously, delivered by AHPRA-registered physiotherapists. The program was designed by a geriatrician and physiotherapist.

Who is Bryta for?

Bryta is for adults aged 60 and over who want to maintain or improve their brain function and physical capacity. It is suitable for people at all ability levels. Our physiotherapists assess each participant and tailor every session to your capacity.

How does the program work?

Programs begin with a one-to-one introduction session (45 min–1 hour) to assess your needs and physical/cognitive capacity. Individual sessions are 30 minutes of tailored cognitive-physical training using Bryta's light-based technology. Group programs run approximately 30 minutes weekly and include warm-up, cognitive-physical training, and circuit strength training.

Who runs the sessions?

Every session is run by an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist who is Bryta-certified. The program is overseen by Professor Kwang Lim, Clinical Director for Aged Care at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

How long does the program go for?

Program length depends on your goals and needs. Many participants start with an introductory block and then continue with ongoing sessions to maintain their progress.

How is progress tracked?

Physical and cognitive performance is measured at the start and reassessed regularly. Reaction times and light deactivation speed are tracked weekly. You and your referrer/case manager receive regular feedback on progress.

How much does it cost?

Clinic sessions: $120 per 30-minute session. Home visits: $200 per 60-minute visit (inclusive of face-to-face, travel, and admin). Group classes: $70 per session. Home Kit: $320 one-time purchase plus subscription.

Can Bryta be funded through Home Care Packages?

Yes. All Bryta programs are 100% eligible for Home Care Package funding — meaning nothing out of pocket if you have a package. If we're partnered with your provider, billing is straightforward. If not, contact us and we can work to become a certified service provider.

What other funding is available?

Private health fund rebates may apply depending on your extras cover. Medicare provides a $61.80 rebate for up to 5 physiotherapy sessions via a Chronic Disease Management plan — speak to your GP. The Home Kit qualifies under the Support At Home Assistive Technology and Home Modifications scheme.

Is Bryta the same as physiotherapy?

No. Bryta is a specialised brain and body exercise program — not traditional physiotherapy. While delivered by physiotherapists, Bryta focuses specifically on cognitive-motor training, reaction time, processing speed, and coordination. It does not provide gait aids or treat musculoskeletal conditions directly.

Is it safe for someone with my medical condition?

Bryta is designed to be safe for all ability levels. Our physiotherapists assess each participant's capacity during the initial session and tailor the program accordingly. If you have specific concerns, discuss them during your free discovery call.
